The developers are proposing the construction of a wind farm of up to 90MW, to be located around Quantans
Hill, near Carsphairn in Dumfries and Galloway as shown in Figure 2.
The wind farm would comprise:
Between 17-30 turbines;
Anemometer masts; and
Internal tracks and access to the road network.
The wind farm will require a connection to the grid network. Although not envisaged at present, any section of overhead line associated with this connection would be subject to a separate application under Section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989.
